Orlando International Pen Show – Show Floor Walkthrough

Start your Orlando International Pen Show experience with a guided tour of the show floor!

Join us on the first day of the show for a guided journey through the exhibition hall. We’ll introduce you to the different areas of the show, highlight featured exhibitors and makers, and share tips to help you make the most of your time at one of the largest gatherings of fountain pen, stationery, and writing enthusiasts in the Southeast.

Along the way, you’ll get a chance to see the incredible variety of pens, inks, paper, notebooks, accessories, and other writing-related treasures available from vendors and makers from around the country.

• An introduction to the show floor and how everything is laid out
• Highlights of participating pen makers, retailers, and exhibitors
• Tips for navigating the show and making the most of your visit
• A closer look at some of the unique products and specialties you’ll find throughout the show
• An opportunity to learn more about the people behind the brands and makers
• Plenty of inspiration for your next pen, ink, notebook, or stationery purchase

Collage Journaling and Tunnel Pages

This workshop welcomes both beginners and experienced collagers or journalers who want to explore collage journaling and tunnel pages. You will learn the following and more:

• How to choose a theme, concept or color scheme
• How to layout a single-page, double-page or tunnel-page spread
• Layering of ephemera, scraps, stickers

The following supplies will be provided:

• small softcover journal
• mini scissors
• glue
• ruler
• washi tapes
• an assortment of ephemera, paper scraps, stickers of varying themes

Class fee: $105

2 hours of instruction and time for making your own spreads.

Fountain Pen 101

Fountain Pen 101 is an introductory-level class covering the basics of fountain pens and their uses. We will explore reasons to use fountain pens, fountain pen anatomy, filling mechanisms, how to clean, ink options, pen storage, papers, and common fountain pen mistakes. Attendees will receive a pen and samples of various fountain pen-friendly papers.

Stickers to Stories: Page Composition and Design Basics, Color Theory, & Visual Prompts for Creative Writing

Discover the happiness within your notebook pages through basic composition techniques, effective sticker arrangement and utilization, and a little color theory- along with hands-on building of the spread.

This is a beginner class for learning to not only craft visually appealing and harmonious journal layouts with your stickers, but to facilitate a creative journaling process with “story” in mind. Did you know that your spreads can inspire story?

Supplies:

After your purchase, Happiness Handmade Sticker sheets and fountain pen friendly paper to work along with instructor will be provided at the beginning of class and not mailed prior to. If you prefer to craft in your own journal or favorite notebook feel free to bring it along (A5 or B6 size is preferred).

The Art and Science of Journaling (And Letter Writing)

In this hands-on session, Jeanne explores both the art and the science of journaling. You’ll learn how handwriting, letter writing, and creative journaling can support mental and physical wellbeing, discover unique journaling approaches you can use at home or at work, practice “being present”, and receive visual “prompts” to stimulate creation.

Whether you are a beginner or “seasoned” in journaling, this class is geared towards you! Children who have an interest in journaling (around age 10 or higher) also welcome!
